Please note in this regard that the expired documents, as long as they are legible, they allow the exercise of the right to vote.

For voter identification purposes, the following are also valid:
a) expired identity cards and other identification documents, indicated in the previous paragraph, provided that the documents themselves are regular in every other respect and can ensure the precise identification of the voter;
b) identification cards issued by the National Union of Italian officers on leave, provided they have a photograph and validated by a military command;
c) identification cards issued by professional associations, provided they have a photograph.
