It is the second port in the world for container handling, the third most competitive economy, the fourth country for attracting foreign investments, the second for ease of doing business, the fifth global exporter of Hi-Tech products and, if that wasn’t enough, it is also the first country in Asia for urban mobility. These are the reasons that led to the Young Entrepreneurs Group of Confindustria Udine to choose Singapore as the destination of the 2024 international mission.

“It was a truly interesting and stimulating visit – is the travel note from the president of the GGI of Confindustria Udine, Valentina Cancellier -. It’s not every day, even for us entrepreneurs, that we are able to come into contact with such a dynamic and effervescent economy in which manufacturing, contributing 21% to the formation of the national GDP, plays a leading role”.

In the five days of mission, the delegation, composed of 18 young Friulian entrepreneurs, had the opportunity not only to visit numerous companies, including STMicroelectronics and ATR, but also to meet with the main Italian personalities of reference in Singapore: Dante Brandi, Italian ambassador to Singapore, Gionata Bosco, president of the Chamber of Commerce, Giorgio Calveri, director of ICE, and the members of the Italian business community in Singapore as well as those of the Singapore Business Federation. Finally, it should also be highlighted that the Udine GGI was the first Confindustria delegation to visit the Confindustria Antenna in Singapore, operational since 2 May as part of the “Confindustria nel mondo” project, which aims to strengthen the presence of the Association abroad. The Antenna has regional responsibility for the 10 ASEAN countries: in addition to Singapore, also Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, the Philippines, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

“Even from this mission to Singapore – concludes President Cancellier – we young entrepreneurs have all emerged more enriched humanly and professionally. These initiatives in fact represent an important training opportunity, a moment of discussion and aggregation, a way to get in touch with other very dynamic international realities and a business opportunity”.
