He was the mayor of Cerenzia, Salvatore Mascaroto represent Crotone and its province in Rome, on the occasion of the Republic Day celebrations.
“It is a day that invites us to reflect on the values, achievements and challenges that have characterized our democratic path – said the young mayor. June 2, 1946, the people chose the Republic as their form of government, putting an end to a monarchy. It was a choice that established the principle of popular sovereignty and paved the way towards a future of freedom, equality and social justice.

On this day I was honored to be able to represent my country and my land before the President of the Republic, remembering and honoring those who fought for these ideals, often sacrificing their lives to guarantee us a better present and future.

Today, more than ever, we need to rediscover and reaffirm these values. Our Republic must be a beacon of democracy, solidarity and hope.

Republic Day is not just a celebration of the past, but a commitment to the future. It is an invitation to everyone to participate actively in public life, to contribute with our ideas, energy and skills to building a more equitable and inclusive society. It is a call to work together, beyond differences, for the common good.”

Mascaro then invited everyone to unity: “United in our values Constitutionwe can face the challenges that await us and build a better, fairer and more supportive Italy.

Thanks to Anci Calabria thanks to its President as well as president of the province of Cosenza and Mayor of San Giovanni in fiore Rosaria Succurro Mayor for the esteem she places in me day after day”.
