TREVISO – Personalities who have done their utmost every day, at work and in everyday life, to contribute to the material and social progress of society. People who have distinguished themselves in whatever field they have worked in, for their tireless commitment and daily dedication. This is how the prefect of Treviso Angelo Sidoti described i 14 awarded to the Order and Merit of the Italian Republic appointed knights. «In a community that today is suffering a lot from a values point of view, having people who are instead maximum examples of commitment, respect and honesty is a great privilege for us», underlined the mayor of Treviso, Mario Conte. «There is a great need for people who want to do something for others» in fact, the first prize winner specified, Reginaldo Scomparin, from Carbonera, who at the age of 87, is still particularly active in volunteering, after having been councilor of the Provincial Carabinieri Section on Leave of Treviso for many years. The Istranese Valeriano Angelo Petrarolo, first lieutenant of the Air Force, was the second awarded, for his highest sense of duty, spirit of sacrifice and absolute ability during his service. He continued with Antonio Ortolan, from Mogliano who is particularly active in some local associations and also in the municipal area of Noale; with Luca Pinzifrom Montebelluna, journalist and television presenter, founding member of the Inauto sports club and of the “Verso la luce” center.

Then the first of the two women awarded: from Motta di Livenza, Gabriella Nogarotto, member of the Organizing Committee of the Marian Jubilee celebrations of Motta di Livenza and promoter of various parish courses for the benefit of the community. Then Fabrizio Bergamo, from Oderzo, an established entrepreneur and sales manager of a company that boasts 800 employees, a model of productivity in favor of environmental sustainability and attention to the territory. Another opitergino was awarded Fabio Guerra, employee of the Civil Engineers of Treviso with duties of coordinator of the Piave River Flood Service, with functions in emergency contexts and prompt hydraulic interventions. He proved to be fundamental in the coordination phases of interventions for the evacuation of families and commercial activities in complete safety. Among the other winners, Alessandro Sassoof the municipality of Paese, lieutenant for Special Charges of the Guardia di Finanza, serving at the Provincial Command of Treviso, as well as an Avis member. Lorenzo Bazzofrom Ponte di Piave, a great model ship enthusiast and historical researcher, who collected proceeds for charitable purposes such as the Oncology Reference Center of Aviano. Martina Filippini from Ponzano, owner of the “Alfredo” restaurant in Treviso, who has supported the “Oltre Il Labirinto Onlus” Foundation for several years. Vittorino Difesatto, from San Vendemmiano, former Municipal Secretary and General Director, most recently at the municipality of Vittorio Veneto. Franco Guerra, from Susegana, entrepreneur in the field of various food distribution, who during the Covid period stood out for the delivery of food to the poor and families in difficulty. Piercarlo Pederiva, from Valdobbiadene, among the founders of the ANA Civil Protection group of Valdobbiadene and a volunteer for 30 years. Finally, Alessio Lillo, from Villorba, retired army colonel, who has always dedicated himself to sporting, social and welfare volunteering.
