TREVISO – Treviso celebrated the 78th Anniversary of the Italian Republic Day. The ceremonies began with the solemn flag-raising and the laying of laurel wreaths at the War Memorial in Piazza della Vittoria. Subsequently, a Joint Forces Unit accompanied by City Music Band “D. Visentin” marched through the city center, reaching Piazza dei Signori. During the celebrations, the staff of Treviso Provincial Fire Brigade Command he unfurled a tricolor banner from the Palazzo dei Trecento to the tune of the Italian anthem. Reading the message sent to the Prefects by President of the Republic preceded the greetings of the civil authorities who attended.
The Prefect of Treviso, Angelo Sidoti, in his speech he underlined how current challenges, including climate change and the green economy, require a joint effort to maintain and improve well-being standards. “In moments of crisis our country has always been able to react and today we must do so starting from the sense of community and cohesion”, declared the Prefect, emphasizing the importance of facing the difficulties of families and the uncertainties of young people together. The ceremonies in Piazza dei Signori concluded with a concert by the City Music Band “D. Visentin” at the Loggia dei Cavalieri of Palazzo dei Trecento.
