The presentation of the latest literary effort by the Catanzaro author will take place on Saturday 8 June at 6.00 pm at the multipurpose center in via Fontana Vecchia Italo Cirene, entitled “Verses and diversity”.
The professor will dialogue with the author Maria Rosaria Pedullà, while the readings and the related musical background will be provided respectively by the theater actor Tonino Minicelli and the teacher Francesco Miniaci.
The proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to the Calabrian solidarity centre, chaired by Dr Isolina Mantelli, For many years it has been on the front line for the recovery of people with severe social disadvantage. Italo Cirene is a cultural promoter (he is responsible for the UniVersi feminine event, a “pink-tinged” poetic reading which was a great success last March 21st, on the occasion of World Poetry Day) and has published an anthology poetic “In 7 words”, published by VJ editions of Milan.
His poems are present in various anthologies of literary prizes, including those published by VJ for the Clepsamia prize (2019), for the 2020 and 2022 editions of Calabria in verse and those connected to the Alda Merini prize, organized by the Accademia dei Bronzes, curated by CE Ursini of Catanzaro.
Versi e diversi is his second publication and, as the subtitle states, it contains a part in verse and one in prose, accompanied by a gallery of iconographic images.
