The first presentation in Campania of the book “Gigi Proietti. Teachings and chatter about the theatre, the actor and other amenities”, written by Claudio Pallottini, author, screenwriter, actor and historical collaborator of Maestro Proietti. The work was published by Carocci Editore (October, 2023) with the contribution of the Gigi Proietti Foundation and Casa Shakespeare.

Carlotta Proietti, Carlo Ragone and Marco Simeoli dialogue with the author. The provincial councilor delegate for culture Francesco Morra brings institutional greetings. Moderated by Carmen Stanzione. Some classes of the Alfano I scientific high school, the Severi scientific high school and the Sabatini Menna artistic high school participate.

The volume is the first docu-book which, through the words of Gigi Proietti himself, tells his vision of theatre, acting, scenic art and many other amenities that make up the sensitivity of an artist. Thanks to the voices of many colleagues and friends who wanted to share their memories of the great master, the book offers testimony to his vocation for teaching a beautiful profession, full of joys and satisfactions, but also overflowing with sweat, frustrations and tears; a profession that, as he often repeated, “The doctor didn’t order you to do it!”.

So far presented in Rome, at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, as part of the PiùLibriPiùLiberi fair and at the Teatro Argentina, in Milan at the Teatro Arcimboldi, in Turin at the Circolo dei Lettori, in Spoleto at Palazzo Mauri, in Pesaro, the Italian Capital of Culture 2024, at the Casa della Scrittura in Borgo Pace and in many other locations linked in various ways to the figure of Proietti, the work has received widespread appreciation from critics and the public.

The book is presented at the Province of Salerno as the first event in Campania not only because it is necessary to remember a great artist who left a great legacy, but also in consideration of the multiple ties that Gigi Proietti had with the Provincial Authority, its territory and with the entire city of Salerno: Charlot Award collected in 2004 in Paestum, Segreti d’Autore Award collected in Valle Cilento in 2015, the editions of “Nabucco” and “Carmen” produced by the Giuseppe Verdi Municipal Theater of Salerno in 2009 and 2010 , which Proietti directed.
