Tomorrow is Republic Day, the ceremony organized by the Prefecture of Ragusa –





Tomorrow the Italian Republic turns 78 years old from the day of its foundation, demonstrations are planned in every corner of Italy to remember this important event of freedom and democracy.

In conjunction with the ceremony presided over in Rome by the Head of State, Sergio Mattarella, a ceremony will be organized in Piazza San Giovanni in Ragusa. The start is scheduled for 10 am in the presence of the highest civil, military and religious authorities, representatives of national and regional delegations, state and regional administrations present in the Iblean territory.

The ceremony will open with the arrival of the armed guard of honour, the combatant associations and other bodies and/or associations. The guard of honor will be made up of soldiers from the Navy, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, State Police and Penitentiary Police, according to the armament foreseen for each Corps.

Representative personnel will also be deployed together with the guard of honour: the State Forestry Corps, the Fire Brigade, the Red Cross, the Military Corps of the Italian Red Cross and the civil protection.

During the ceremony the prefect of Ragusa, HE Dr. Giuseppe Ranieri, accompanied by the Mayor and the Garrison Commander, will lay a laurel wreath at the Monument to the Fallen of the Great War.

Finally, during the ceremony, the Prefect will read the greeting message from the President of the Republic, and I will hand over the honors to the “Merit of the Italian Republic”.
