The themes This year’s theme, ‘Party Killers’, is explained to the speakers mounted on the floats, by the Drag Queens protagonists of Be Queer, the well-known LGBTQIA+ evening: «We are party poopers because we ruin the party for the norm. Let us fearlessly take to the streets all the subjectivities marginalized, ridiculed and oppressed by a system built for the well-being only of those who respect its standards. We are killjoys because we go too far, because we put our foot down, because we don’t fit in. We are not going to live in silence and suppress our identities.” The various souls of the community take turns on the Carducci stage: from the rights of rainbow families, to the protection of the law on abortion and the possibility of accessing it safely, to the issues of the trans community, which in recent days has seen exclude from the ministerial table on gender dysphoria, established by the Ministry of Family and Health.

Palestine and elections In this year’s Umbria Pride, not only LGBTQIA+ issues, but also a look at the world. Among the crowd, several Palestinian flags and keffiyehs are waving. Appeals are being made for a ceasefire and a stop to the genocide. And then again the elections, the administrative ones and the European ones. «Going to vote is important – they say from the stage in the Carducci gardens – if we don’t go to vote we let others choose for us and we don’t want that. The party breaks down especially in the voting booth.”
