The class 3 A team of‘Iis Ciliberto-Lucifero of Crotone won the national financial education contest ‘Findomestic Camp’, the final of which was held on 24 May in Florence. The Calabrian girls and boys, accompanied by the teachers Marcella Lucente And Noemi Tempera, prevailed in the six-way final, presenting the best project among the 114 proposed by schools across Italy, to convey the basic concepts of financial education and environmental sustainability to children aged 7 to 13. The initiative, now in its 11th edition, was carried out as part of the financial education and culture programme’For Young Courses‘ which involved over 49,000 students with its activities.
The 3A team of the Crotone Institute created the project “Alice in the land of economic sustainability” (animated stories and ebooks that take inspiration from the adventures of Alice in Wonderland) with the aim of transmitting to younger people (children and teenagers between 7 and 13 years old) the concepts of financial education acquired during “PerCorsi Young”, the financial education and culture program created by the consumer credit company of the BNP Paribas group which involved, with all its activities, over 49,000 students. The interactive e-book also includes a special section called “Explore, Play and Enjoy”. In this section, children explore and immerse themselves in content related to environmental sustainability, recycling and related economic concepts.
In second place was the 4 Bsu of the Varrone Institute of Cassino (Frosinone) thanks to the ‘The egg saves the environment’ project, a farm managed in the name of environmental and economic sustainability. In third place, the 5 A of Ipssar Karol Wojtyla of Catania with ‘FindoCity’, a cooperative video game for managing eco-sustainable cities. The first three teams classified win vouchers of 1,200, 800 and 500 euros for the purchase of educational materials.
The Crotone school also received recognition for the project Eco Challenge – conceived by the 4A students of the Lucifero Nautical Technical Institute – in which children are virtually guided along a path during which they will be tested on various aspects related to sustainability and the economy through an interactive online game full of questions, unexpected events and challenges.
