Florence weekend events: what to do on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May in the city

In Florence, Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May, numerous and varied events will take place: a vast market in Campo di Marte, visits to historic homes, festive cooperation in Piazza Santissima Annunziata, the Final Six of the Italian artistic gymnastics championship and a event dedicated to pizza in Piazzale Michelangelo with musical guests such as Alfa, Leo Gassmann and Malika Ayane. In the surrounding area, the Medieval Festival in Malmantile, the Chianti Exhibition in Montespertoli and “Bread, wine and craftsmanship” in Pontassieve stand out.

Until 3pm on Saturday 25 May, the “La Cooperation in Festa” event continues in Piazza Santissima Annunziata in Florence, celebrating 50 years of Legacoop Toscana with free entry. On Friday 24 May, at 10:00, over 250 Tuscan students will participate in “Finché un giorno”, presenting the book of the same name by Lia Celi and Luciano Schiavon, which tells stories of cooperatives that have influenced society. In the afternoon, at 4pm, we will talk about “Preparing the future” with a focus on Europe, environment and peace. In the evening, at 9.00 pm, Walter Veltroni will be a guest with his book “La condemnation”.

The “Pitti Pizza & Friends” event will take place until Sunday 26 May, in the picturesque Piazzale Michelangelo, one of the most breathtaking views of Florence. This event combines food and wine, culture and entertainment, offering a wide range of experiences: from tastings to the participation of experts in the food sector, with particular attention to the promotion of a healthy pizza that respects the principles of the Mediterranean diet. Furthermore, there will be an oven dedicated to celiacs and various food intolerances will be considered, including lactose.

Here are some of the things you can do in the city during this weekend at the end of May.
