«Avellino was underground, with us it has blossomed». Nargi to San Tommaso, no comment on the Review that punishes Festa

The electoral tour of Laura Nargi’s neighborhoods begins with the good omen of small and pretty plants. After the presentation of the coalition a week ago at the Viva Hotelwe start from San Tommaso for the former vice mayor supported by the Really, Viva la Libertà and Siamo Avellino lists.

Nargi arrives about half an hour late, and after a few exchanges with the press, when asked for a comment on the very heavy picture drawn by the Review Court of Naples on the former mayor under house arrest Gianluca Festa, he cuts it short without saying a word.

From the gazebo Nargi speaks to the dozens of people who have gathered, escorted by the many female candidates – «We women are more concrete, she says, and then we have a more harmonious vision of the things to do» -.

In the day’s debate, Nargi responded promptly on the establishment by the Region of the Fenestrelle Park – “fortunately in these 5 years in Avellino there have been those who with determination and perseverance have put an extraordinary intuition down on paper” – therefore on the Pnrr funds obtained from the Municipality at the end of the five-year mandate. “They don’t know the city”, this is the slogan relaunched by social channels to respond to the accusations of the other teams. Among the eight projects included in the financing – 48.8 million – San Tommaso, with the planned construction of a multipurpose indoor facility in via San Pio da Pietralcina in the Q9 area (for an amount of 1.5 million ed.). «But now we also have to complete the structure of the “Roca” football field, he announces, which after the changing rooms needs a new turf». Therefore new interventions for the children and for the adjacent social center.

«Avellino was underground, Nargi reports. Over the last 5 years we have made it blossom. And now, we want to bring all those buds to flower. One neighborhood at a time, with concrete proposals and actions. For the city of tomorrow.” Among the initiatives implemented, the program includes an app and a dedicated number to receive reports and proposals from citizens. So Nargi: «We have planned a series of meetings in all the neighborhoods of the city – he explains – because for us the neighborhoods are the city. We have demonstrated this over the last five years and now we will make our new proposals to each neighborhood. What we want to do is reduce the distances between people. We have demonstrated this and we want to work even harder for this. Once a month – she speaks as mayor – we will promote participatory assemblies: with my whole team we will go around the neighborhoods. We have innovative ideas, we care a lot about this type of participation with the city.”

With Nargi, the very short speeches of the “home” candidates Jessica Tomasetta, Teresa Cucciniello, Giovanna Vecchione and Olimpia Rusolo follow one another. We see the former prime minister Ugo Maggio and the outgoing councilors Marianna Mazza and Tonino Genovese.

In just under half an hour, the event comes to an end. Right here comes the news of the death of the father of the candidate for mayor Antonio Gengaro, the lawyer Tommaso, the historical face of the city. «We have received this bad news. To Antonio Gengaro and his family – says Nargi into the microphone – all my closeness and support from the civic coalition I represent”.
