Two vehicles seized, 37 fines and around 5,000 euros in fines in the last eleven days.

The latest episode occurred the other evening: the municipal police officers of the productive activities, environment and ecology operational unit – coordinated by second lieutenant Giuliana Lorenzi, under the orders of the manager Gennaro Russo – spotted, during the extraordinary searches requested by the The municipal administration led by the mayor Luigi Mennella and the councilor Antonio Ramondo, a Piaggio three-wheeler loaded with waste. From routine checks, not only did it emerge that the driver did not have a license (never obtained), but it became clear that the transport lacked any type of authorization. The three-wheeler and its contents were immediately seized (hazardous and non-hazardous, special and non-hazardous waste: among other things, construction waste, pipes, electrical cables). The driver, a 49-year-old man from Torre del Greco, was reported to the judicial authority for illicit possession of waste and possession of waste material, as well as possession of burglary tools found during checks.
As mentioned, this is only the latest in a series of checks carried out by municipal police officers in the period between 13 and 23 May as part of a planned surveillance activity regarding the correct disposal of waste

urban solids, which includes, in addition to daily activities, shifts also during the evening and night hours. An activity requested by the administration to try to deal with the phenomenon of the illegal abandonment of waste in the city and which is bearing fruit: in the last eleven days, in fact, 37 reports have been issued for as many violations regarding the union ordinance which regulates the delivery of separated waste, for a total amount of almost 5,000 euros. Furthermore, during the night between Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st May, the activity allowed us to identify another person, already known to the police, intent on dumping disused furniture onto the street. The driver, who was immediately taken to the headquarters in Largo Costantinopoli, was reported, while the vehicle he was in was seized.
Finally, from the data in the possession of the municipal police, the areas most subjected to attention in this period were via De Gasperi, Litoranea, Ponte della Gatta, viale Dalla Chiesa and traverse, via Nazionale, via Ferdinando II di Borbone, Sotto ai Camaldoli, Sopra ai Camaldoli , via Salzano, via Viuli, via del Monte, Lamaria, viale Europa, Giovanni XXIII, via De Nicola, via XX Settembre, piazza Palomba, via Comizi, via Scappi and via De Nicola.
