Highly selected. The 30 cars present, the result of an extremely rigorous selection, found a home for three days on the lawn of the centuries-old park of Casa Maria Luigia, where the participants were able to enjoy the extraordinary hospitality of Massimo and Lara Bottura, while the Cavallino judges, mainly arriving from the United States, they examined the smallest details of the cars to determine the winners. An approach common to the other two Cavallino events: the historic Palm Beach event, which gave rise to Cavallino magazine’s commitment to elegance competitions, and the more cosmopolitan one in Abu Dhabi, where for a weekend (the same of the F1 grand prix) it is the vintage red cars that make the public’s eyes widen and not the arabesque architecture or the excesses of the emirate.

Piero Ferrari was also among the VIP guests. The Modena event in Cavallino took place under the banner of one great participation of the public and guests. Among them also Drake’s descendants with his son Piero Ferrari – today vice president of the company – accompanied by his daughter Antonella and his grandchildren Enzo and Piero. A family dimension that was added to the institutional one, with great appreciation of those present. Many familiar faces who spent the weekend among the immaculate Ferraris of the competition, including Sebastian Vettel, Jean Arnault, Duccio Lopresto, Filippo Magnini with Giorgia Palmas and Giovanni Tronchetti Provera, as well as the head of Ferrari Classiche Andrea Modena.

Three cars awarded Best of Show. Over the weekend, three categories were awarded Best of Show. The prize for the Gran Turismo category was awarded to one Ferrari 365 GTB4 from 1971, a matching numbers Daytona with an untouched bodywork. Keeping her company is the Best of Show Competition: one 250 Monza from 1954, one of the four small boats built by Scaglietti and Pininfarina which debuted with a victory at the 12 Hours of Hyeres with the Trintignant-Piotti crew. Finally, the Ferrari Classiche Certified award was awarded to one 1997 Ferrari F50, the closest to an F1 among the road cars that came out of the Maranello factory. The next appointment with Cavallino Classic will be in December 2024, in Abu Dhabi.
