Ivano Iacomelli leaves the Consortium for the Management of the Environmental Observatory

Ivano Iacomelli is no longer the president of the Environmental Observatory Consortium, the body that brings together the municipalities of Civitavecchia, Santa Marinella, Tarquinia, Tolfa, Allumiere and Monte Romano, created to manage environmental monitoring and promote initiatives to verify the state of health of the population of the area where the coal power plant is located. The announcement of his resignation took place during a broadcast on Trc. A necessary act, that of Iacomelli, considering his decision to participate in the electoral competition.

In the interview, the now former president of the Consortium claimed responsibility for the action taken to revive the organization which had been blocked for five years and for having therefore forced Enel to pay the funds provided for by the agreement in order to set up a series of initiatives. The immediately visible one was represented by the new information panels on air quality which are installed in various points of the interested territory. The most important, according to Iacomelli, will be seen in a few weeks, when the first part of the work conducted by the local health company in collaboration with the Department of Epidemiology of the Lazio Region will be made official and which will provide an initial picture of the state of health of the population and on the possible pathological effects related to pollution. Pollution which, according to Iacomelli, according to the data provided daily by Arpa Lazio, the body that the Consortium wanted to confirm in the management of the control units present in Civitavecchia and neighboring municipalities, can be considered under control.
