Palermo, Amap works: traffic restrictions in the Piazza Ziino area

PALERMO – Work on the water network of Amap will make it necessary to close some roads in the Piazza Ottavio Ziino area in the next few days.

This was announced by the Municipality of Palermo in a note announcing that “the works, which are part of the plan to extend and refunction the water and sewerage networks in the city as part of the 23/24 framework agreement, will be carried out in three phases and beyond Piazza Ottavio Ziino , will affect via Serradifalco and via Malaspina”.

Phase 1: piazza Ottavio Ziino stretch between civ.31 (corner of via Serradifalco) and civ. 36 (corner of via Malaspina) with total closure to transit. The following restrictions on vehicular and pedestrian traffic: closure of vehicular traffic on the roadway affected by the works; establishment of a parking ban, on both sides, in the affected sections, with forced removal 0.00 – 24.00; prohibition of pedestrian transit on the affected sidewalks; contextual creation of a special protected pedestrian path along the perimeter of the construction site.

Phase 2: via Serradifalco stretch between Piazza Ottavio Ziino and Via Leoncavallo.

Phase 3: via Malaspina stretch between Via Leoncavallo and Piazza Ottavio Ziino.

The ordinance provides “the following limitations on vehicular and pedestrian circulation for phases 2 and 3: closure of vehicular traffic on the semi-roadway or portion of the roadway affected by the works; establishment of a parking ban, on both sides, in the affected sections, with forced removal 0.00 – 24.00; prohibition of pedestrian transit on the affected sidewalks; contextual creation of a special protected pedestrian path along the perimeter of the construction site”.

The start date of the works has not yet been established but the municipality “specifies – as written in the ordinance – that the measures will be valid for 60 days from the start date of the works which must take place no later than 30 days from the date of issue of the same”.
