Atlante charging stations on the motorway

Atlas was awarded the first tender of Motorways for Italy aimed at the design, construction and management of beyond 90 charging points ultra-fast for electric vehicles on national territory.

The devices made by the company NHOA Group specialized in fast and ultrafast charging, they will be located in 8 service areas in Northern, Central and Southern Italy, characterized by the presence of solar panels covering the structures and energy storage systems.

The stations, recognizable thanks to the shelter designed by Bertone Designwill integrate a recognition system for the illegal parking of combustion engine vehicles, intelligent lighting and signage, wi-fi connection, multimedia information totems and a 24-hour video surveillance system.

Atlante is the first independent operator to install charging areas on the network managed by Autostrade per l’Italia. These will be accessible to people with reduced mobility, equipped with POS terminals for payment with bank cards and compatible with every charging standard and electric mobility service provider.

«Our mission is to contribute to the achievement of zero-emission mobility in Italy, France, Spain and Portugal. This award represents a further step after the 87 fast and ultra-fast charging points on French motorways by VINCI Autoroutes, and consolidates Atlante’s position as the main independent operator in Southern Europe in the development and management of fast and ultra-fast charging networks on motorway infrastructures », he comments Stefano Terranova, CEO of Atlante.

«The increase in charging stations on Italian motorways represents a concrete response to fears of the incompatibility of electric vehicles with long-distance travel. By making charging simple and ultra-fast even on the motorway, the transition towards electric mobility is simplified, thus contributing to a more sustainable future.

These new ultra-fast stations increase Atlante’s presence in strategic Italian infrastructures, from the main airports to the ring roads and major motorways, thus allowing Atlante customers to be able to recharge throughout the national territory without any more worries”, underlines Gabriele Tuccillo, CEO of Atlante Italia.
