October 14, 2015 is a date that residents and traders of Tivoli will not easily forget. On that day a heavy disturbance caused the waters of the Aniene to rise and it flooded in a devastating manner.

Over 150 interventions were carried out by the Fire Brigade, after hours of uninterrupted rain in the province of Rome. Among the areas most affected by water and mud, Tivoli and the Castelli Romani were those with the most extensive damage between streets, basements, commercial premises and homes.

One million euros allocated by the Lazio Region to compensate Tivoli businesses and commercial activities devastated by the 2015 catastrophe

One million euros in compensation has been provided for the businesses and commercial activities of Tivoli, damaged by the damage of the 2015 Tivoli flood.

It was established last night during the Lazio Regional Council, thanks to an amendment to the legislative measure presented by the Councilor for Budget and Agriculture, Giancarlo Righini.

The sum allocated is intended for the businesses and commercial activities of the Lazio municipality, which in a few hours witnessed the devastation of the water of the Aniene river which, with the uninterrupted rains, broke its banks and ended up in houses, shops and basements, causing several wounded.

Only 24 hours later, the municipal administration requested a state of natural disaster by initiating the formal request for recognition of damages for those exceptional atmospheric events, with particular reference to the neighborhood of Hadrian’s Village the most devastated, in addition to the areas of Lucan Bridge and of San Pastore road.

“The provision is a duty towards the Tivoli companies, who have had to wait too many years to obtain a positive response to their request for help. Today, by will of the Rocca Council and thanks to the favorable vote of all the majority councillors, we fill this gap” – he declared the councilor for Budget and Agriculture, Giancarlo Righini.
