Viterbo – “Those of the Blue Star”: the historic group meets again after 50 years

Appointment on May 24th to relive the history of the team and its members

VITERBO – We receive and publish.

Forget the football game full of fights, controversies, VAR and chatter and take a dive into the past, thinking back to black and white football, the one that made us fall in love with Eupalla. That football that those who climbed over the “doors” lived with jackets placed on the ground to “draw” the goals and the sacrosanct rule “three corners are worth a penalty”.

Think back to the Seventies, which makes you sad just to mention them, because they were “beat”, unrepeatable and unforgettable. Here, it is with this spirit that “Quelli della Stella Azzurra” was born, a magical moment that will inevitably take you back in time. The organizers, led by the stainless Silvano Petri, are a team of old friends: Vincenzo Cima, Francesco Muti, Roberto Fortini, Paolo Nevi, Antonello Ricci, Pino Morelli, Massimo Zucchi, Enrico Aquilani, Carlo Milioni and Giuliano Proietti. They saw fit to divide the amarcord into two distinct and separate phases. A first half which will be staged at 6pm at the Oratorio della Verità in via Oslavia; a second scheduled for 8pm on Cimina road, at the “Le Ginestre” restaurant-pizzeria. Emotion and memory, this is the common thread of the evening of May 24th, a Friday capable of restoring verve to that past which – damn it! – doesn’t come back, but always knows how to give the same moment of joy, like a goal. Over eighty “kids” joined the initiative and, in those years, wore the jersey of the Stella Azzurra sports club. And who, after almost 50 years, will finally meet again, to say thanks to the “grown-ups” of the time, to the adults, who spent time, patience and so on and so forth, to make those peterpans become “big” in turn running after a ball.

It’s just us… Those of the seventies, so to speak. The stainless Don Elio Forti above all, obviously, who on Friday afternoon will throw open the doors of “his” Oratory of him. But also legendary coaches such as Silvio Della Rocca and Giulio Ciacci, Maurizio Boa, Luigi Angelini and the very young Lando Sileoni. Or passionate and tireless managers like Fortini, Minisini, Bocchini, Brinchi, Iannaccone, De Rosa. We won’t miss a moment to also remember all those “boys” who, alas, left us too soon: Bruno, Luciano, Alessandro, Angelo, Romualdo, Luca. A plaque will be unveiled, some gifts delivered, some photos displayed, some songs sung, many anecdotes recalled. Journalist Massimiliano Morelli will host the event. It’s just us, Those of the Blue Star! A piece of the history of this city…
