Milan, Brescia and Bergamo are the Lombard capitals that collected the most from fines in 2023. The three Municipalities respectively received more than 147 million, 12.4 million and 7.5 million euros. These data emerge from the analysis carried out by Facile.it on Siope data, the information system for the operations of public bodies.

Milan is first by detachment, not only in Lombardy but also at a national level. Closing this regional ranking are Sondrio and Lodi, which have grossed, respectively, more than 652 thousand and more than 490 thousand.

The well-known online portal also tried to calculate the value of the “fine per capita”, taking into account that the fines are not only inflicted on residents. Indeed, in some areas tourists and commuters contribute significantly to the overall figure. The calculation based on residents takes Brescia off the podium: the first is still Milan with a per capita fine of 108 euros, followed by Pavia (90 euros), Mantua (73 euros), Como (65 euros), and then Brescia and Bergamo, both with a fine of 63 euros.
