the 2023 budget approved one year after the flood

The assembly of Auser Forlì Delegates, meeting in Portico and San Benedetto, unanimously approved the 2023 budget of both associations of which Auser is made up (Aps and Odv). Both balance sheets closed in the black. The Social Report was also unanimously approved. In 2023 Auser carried out a total of 15,260 personal aids and socialization meetings, reaching 13,278 users. The hours dedicated by the volunteers were 34,912 and the kilometers traveled were 231,072. In her report, president Maria Luisa Bargossi began by talking about last year’s flood, and highlighting its effects both directly on the association and on the volunteers’ activities in the following months.

“The offices of the Auser Operations Centers in Forlì are safe and so are the cars – Bargossi illustrated -. Instead, homes, furniture and production activities of many members are invaded by mud, vehicles are beyond repair, gardens and vegetable gardens devastated, the memories of a life swept away. In a few hours, the feeling of security that your home conveys is lost. Everyone does what they can and our volunteers make themselves available to the Mayors who ask for our help to provide meals to the Civil Protection and Fire Brigade columns or self-organize with the collection and distribution centers for basic necessities . Civic Volunteering expresses its ability to mobilize in support of those in need.”

“Life resumes but the wound is difficult to heal – added the president -: for this reason my report to the Budget can only start from this event, because even in this scenario Auser Forlì has shown itself to be a present and active reality on the territory. Despite everything, the number of members is growing (+130) compared to the previous year with many new registrations; the unchanged number of volunteers (199) does not take into account the new contributions that replace the physiological defections. The activities carried out throughout the Forlì District are continuous throughout the year, diversified and appreciated, with the objective of providing relief to elderly people in difficulty, combating loneliness, and building an inclusive and cohesive community”.

After inevitably mentioning the concerns on a global scale linked to the ongoing wars, Bargossi finally reported on Auser’s main activities and future prospects. In particular, a passage was dedicated to the reform of the Third Sector: “We participated with conviction in the birth of the Provincial Forum of the Third Sector which was established on 23 April and which sees us in the coordination body – said the president -. It will be a significant representative office that can participate in the creation of shared administration and in the determination of social, welfare and health planning. We await the issuance of the regional guidelines that our Municipalities will have to implement shortly.”
