Many waste of every kind scattered along the coast together with dangerous ones plates Of abandoned eternities near the remains of an old lido which has now become a ruin. This is the scene that the volunteers of the social promotion association found themselves facing.Logos&Polis‘ who, last weekend, rolled up their sleeves and cleaned up the beach San Pietro Lametino picking up approx three quintals of waste.
At the eco day volunteers from the associations also participatedLametini puppies and surroundings” always from San Pietro Lametino and “The company from via Bologna” of San Pietro a Maida.
The initiative promoted by the president of Logos&Polis Iolanda Baretta took place in collaboration with Multiservizi spa. For the occasion, a beach cleaning machinery which the association, very active on the environmental protection front, purchased with the proceeds of a charity evening organized last February.
Armed with gloves, rakes, bags and a great desire to be volunteers, they combed and cleaned the coastline invaded by rubbish.
There president Baretta highlighted, in a note, the fact that “The beach of San Pietro Lametino is in a state of serious abandonment with the old beach now a ruin with many asbestos sheets (which made up the roof of the building) scattered around. An environmental emergency situation – argued Baretta – which should be resolved immediately with the renovation of the ruin, the removal of asbestos and the remediation of the site for environmental protection and the protection of citizens’ health“.
The association Logos&Polis has announced another ecological day for 15 June, again in San Pietro Lametino, in which all local associations active in the environmental and socio-cultural sectors and all citizens have been invited to participate.
