Rome, 21 May. (askanews) – Piazza di Siena, the ‘home’ of polo. In the green heart of Villa Borghese the seasonal opening stage of the Italia Polo Challenge takes place, the arena polo circuit organized in collaboration with the FISE (Italian Equestrian Sports Federation) for the fifth time in a row in the competitive calendar of the CSIO – the Piazza di Siena Horse Competition – now in its ninety-first edition.
The event, which will take place in the capital from Thursday 23rd to Saturday 25th May, will have as its theater the historic Galoppatoio restored to its former glory thanks to the collaboration between FISE and Sport and Health and access will be free for the entire duration of the event. event which includes two matches a day starting each evening at 8.30pm and 9.30pm. As a precursor to the three days of meetings, as usual, there will be a parade of the protagonists – horses and players, escorted by the Carabinieri Fanfare – scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at 4.30pm in the streets of central Rome.
THE ROUTE The players will meet in Piazza del Popolo at 4.30pm. The procession will start along Via del Corso, then continuing along Largo Goldoni and Via dei Condotti, until reaching Piazza di Spagna. At the end of the parade, participants will be received by the President of the Via Condotti Association, Gianni Battistoni, for a toast of honor in the courtyard of the stables of Palazzo Ruspoli.
