Penny inaugurates the fourth store in the heart of Siena

Just two weeks after the opening of the shop in Capolona (Ar), Penny returns to Tuscany and opens a new store in Siena, the fourth in the city.

The 84th Penny space in the region was created inside the Galleria Metropolitan in Piazza Matteotti, a commercial reference point in the historic centre, and with its 560 m2 of sales surface it represents an important discount food offer within the city, with products typical of the region.

The new Penny will offer its customers a vast assortment, thanks to the presence of a butcher’s department, a catered deli, a hot point and local references of renowned local brands; furthermore there will be bake offs, fresh pastries, fresh fish and a regional tank.

Customers who purchase take-away or delicatessen products will be able to consume them on a terrace used as a refreshment point, overlooking the Siena Cathedral. The store format includes a food and non-food offering in line with the quality and convenience of the brand, with an assortment made up of 75% Italian products, with particular attention to regionalism and local production.

At the same time, throughout Tuscany the brand has launched an important operation linked to the butcher’s, delicatessen and hot point departments served in existing sales points, for a better service to customers and to support the food and wine excellences of the region.

Furthermore, the brand pays great attention to sustainability within its “We live sustainably” path, guaranteeing in all its new points of sale activities to combat food waste, respect for the environment and social responsibility with partners value, an integral part of the brand’s history, with a responsible and innovative approach. Furthermore, the renovation which affected the premises occupied by the new store saw the use of latest generation systems, equipment and materials with particular attention to saving energy consumption and environmental sustainability such as the use of LED lighting and Co2 food refrigeration.

The opening of the store includes a staff of 14 collaborators, of which 7 are newly hired people and the store will observe the following opening hours to the public: Monday to Sunday from 8:00 to 21:00.
