The big match of Massimino, the probable lineups of Catania-Avellino

At the Angelo Massimino stadium this evening at 8.30pm Catania-Avellino will be played, a match valid for the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Serie C playoffs. There is great anticipation on the part of the fans of the two teams for this match. A spectacular crowd awaits, ready to push the hosts who, according to the numbers, seem to be at a disadvantage, but who, thinking about the path in the Italian Cup and the most decisive challenges of the season, have all it takes to overturn every prediction. The Campanians in Group C finished in second place with 69 points, important numbers which certify the strength of the group coached by Mister Pazienza. Everything is possible in these challenges which have the flavor of major categories even if only considering the numbers recorded in the stands.

The match will be directed by Valerio Crezzini of the Siena section assisted by Andrea Zezza (Ostia Lido) and Vittorio Consonni (Treviglio). The fourth official is Niccolò Turrini (Florence), the VAR Lorenzo Maggioni (Lecco) and the AVAR Matteo Gariglio (Pinerolo).

The probable lineups of the match

The rossozzurri will probably take the field with the “usual” 3-5-2. Zeoli will focus on Furlan – in great shape last Saturday against Atalanta U23 – between the posts and the defensive department should be completed by Monaco, Quaini and Celli. Bouah, Zammarini, Welbeck, Cicerelli and Castellini should operate in the center of the field. The expected starting attack duo is the one made up of Cianci and Di Carmine. Typical formation, in short, although the inclusion of Tello from the first minute to give some of the players most used in the midfield a chance to catch their breath cannot be ruled out.

The green and whites from Campania should play like a mirror: 3-5-2. Ghidotti on goal; defensive line formed by Frascatore, Cionek and Cancellotti; in the median Ricciardi, Armellino, De Cristofaro, D’Ausilio and Liotti; offensive duo with Gori and Patierno.
