MESSINA – With the second step of the podium conquered in Catania at the “I Bluediving Freediving Trophy”, the Asd Cacciatori Underacquei Messina conquers the regional title at the end of the 2023-2024 Indoor Apnea Championship, totaling a season score such as to surpass, in On the last day of competition, the Palermo-based company MediTerraNea, which had been at the top of the rankings since the start of the Championship and up to that point, made a comeback.
A chase that materialized with the heavy points of the athletes Francesca Aiello, Nicole Cassisi, Massimo Mollica, Natalia Muntian, Melania Pizzuto, Danilo Prinzivalli, Francesco Rao, Danilo Spanu, Antonio Trusso and Francesco Urzì Brancati. The regularity of the results and successes, in the respective categories and specialties, over the course of the year also allowed the athletes Danilo Spanu and Nicole Cassisi to conquer the individual regional record, respectively, in the men’s and women’s points rankings.

The management of the Messina Club is enthusiastic. President Micio Rungo declares: “A success that gratifies us and comes at the end of an always exciting season, during which, in every match, our players were able to give their best, often sacrificing themselves for the team. And this result is even more valid if we consider that we are only in our competitive season, 3 years after the foundation of the Club and that we have competed with clubs with a much longer history and of a very notable level. But the real success lies in having formed this competitive team, which in a spontaneous and natural way has developed a calm and favorable team climate, optimal for maximizing results”.

Naturally inclined to the philosophy of one for all and all for one. A bit of strategy during the race then helped the cause. However, we do not want to forget to thank two people who, outside our club, contributed to these results: the Sports Director of the Ssd UniMe, Sergio Naccari, who believed in us from the first moment, when all this was very far from our ideas, and allowed us to train in university water spaces and Francesco Giorgio, Sport expert for the Mayor of Messina, with whom a fruitful and constructive collaboration was born especially for the Sport in Social sectors”.
