Eaton, the intelligent energy management company, today announced it is offering a portfolio of fuses for electrified commercial vehicles (EVs). The Eaton Bussmann fuse series can handle up to 1,400 amps and 900 volts and is adaptable to customer specifications. Eaton can increase the current capacity by making design changes or placing several fuses in parallel. The fuses will be displayed in Eaton’s booth at the largest cutting-edge commercial vehicle technology event, ACT Expo, taking place May 20-23 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“We have tailored our fuses to be the ideal solution for electrified commercial vehicles, which require more power than passenger EVs,” said Kimberley Wakelin, engineering manager, EV protection, Eaton. “Electrified vehicles are powered by electric motors, which are cyclical and must perform in harsh environments. This means that the fuses must be able to handle these conditions and vehicle vibrations. Our innovative Bussmann series fuses solve this problem, addressing the difficulties and vibration levels.”
