Presentation of the European Hub for the Digital Transition of companies in Puglia and Basilicata

Saturday 25 May, from 9:00 am, at the Auditorium of the Cittadella della Ricerca in Brindisi, CETMA-DIHSME, the European Hub for the Digital Transition of businesses in Puglia and Basilicata, officially presents itself, gathering its partners in attendance of international guests and illustrious representatives from the world of economic development.

The Digital Innovation Hub was created in the context of the “Digital Europe Programme” to support the digital transformation of European societies and economies, which envisaged the creation of a European network of pre-selected digital innovation hubs (European Digital Innovation Hubs – EDIHs). by individual member states and subsequently selected by the European Commission.

“The purpose of the CETMA-DIHSME Hub – explains Marco Alvisi General Director of CETMA Lead partner of the project – is to ensure the digital transition of industry, with particular reference to SMEs, and of public administration through the adoption of advanced digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence, high performance computing, cybersecurity”.

Taking part in the official presentation will be Raffaele Fitto, Minister for European Affairs, the South, cohesion policies and the PNRR. Roberto Morabito, President of CETMA, Michele Emiliano, President of the Puglia Region, Toni Matarrelli, President of the Province of Brindisi and Giuseppe Marchionna, Mayor of Brindisi, will participate in the institutional greetings. From the CONNET General Management, Álvaro Hernando, Project Officer of Digital Transformation of Industrial Ecosystems Unit, will present the Digital Europe Programme, which gave rise to EDIH CETMA DIHSME. From Europe, we will move on to the specific Italian context with “The strategy to support the digital transition” illustrated by the speech by Raffaele Spallone of MIMIT – General Directorate for industrial policy, innovation and small and medium-sized enterprises.

The activities and services of the EDIH CETMA-DIHSME for SMEs and local authorities will be presented by Marco Alvisi – General Director of CETMA, Fabio Pollice – Rector of the University of Salento, Milena Sinigaglia – President of the DARE Foggia District and Alvise Biffi – CEO Secure Network.

This will be followed by the telling of success stories thanks to the use of High Performance Computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence for manufacturing with the introduction of Federico Pirro, Honorary President of CESDIM and the experiences of Michele Frisoli, Manta Group, Foggia and Kai Oberste- Ufer, Dormakaba, Germany.

Finally, the event includes a round table on “The digital transition of the Apulian regional system: challenges and opportunities” in which Antonio Galeone, Delegate President of Confindustria Puglia, Luigi Triggiani – Secretary of Unioncamere Puglia, Giuseppe Riccardi – Regional General Secretary of CNA, Giuseppe Chiarelli will participate – Regional Director of Confcommercio Puglia, Umberto Castellano – Regional Director of Confartigianato Puglia, Vito Bavaro – Manager of Sec. Digital Transformation of the Puglia Region Economic Development Department, Luigi Barone – President of CTS CETMA.

The day will be moderated by Antonio Cianciullo – Huffington Post and after a light lunch it will end with a visit to the CETMA-DIHSME laboratories.

“The official presentation day of CETMA-DIHSME – concludes Francesca Felline, project manager – will begin the provision of services to businesses which include testing and experimentation services (test before investment), training and development of skills, support for access to finance, networking and access to innovation ecosystems. An important opportunity for SMEs in Puglia and Basilicata who will be able to take advantage of highly innovative and concrete support for their growth and development through discounts of up to 100% of the cost of services”.

For the creation of the Innovation Hub, CETMA-DIHSME has signed a grant contract with the European Commission for the first 36 months with the possibility, following an evaluation by the Commission itself, to extend its duration, and an agreement with the Ministry of Businesses and Made in Italy in relation to national co-financing through a decree granting the financing.
