“Traveling schools”: the school of Cantalupo nel Sannio among the 10 winners

Over 23,000 students and more than 1,500 teachers from 838 nursery, primary and lower secondary institutions in the Abruzzo, Marche, Molise, Tuscany and Umbria regions. These are the numbers of the second edition of “Traveling Schools”, Estra’s environmental project which ends with the sustainability tour: ten stops starting from Molise which will touch the ten winning schools, protagonists of special award ceremonies.

The tour started this morning from the Scuola di Cantalupo nel Sannio (Isernia), winner for the Molise region. Students and teachers were able to attend the show “Il Grande Sconquasso”, created by the Straligut theater companies and produced by Estra for schools. This show stands out for its innovative self-production energy system, which uses a generator bike and photovoltaic panels, ensuring low energy consumption and an environmental impact reduced to zero.

On stage, the actress-narrator Anna Amato, riding a bike connected to a storage system and an electric co-generation system, recounted the wonders of her long journey. The story ended with an inspiring message: change is possible and together we can create a better future.

The awards ceremony, which saw the enthusiastic participation of pupils, teachers and families, was coordinated by Maria Anna Monaco and Marilina Monaco. Local institutions were also present, represented by Gianfrancesco Angelo, deputy mayor of Cantalupo nel Sannio, Giacomo Lombardi, mayor of Roccamandolfi, and Anna De Riso, administrator of the Municipality of Santa Maria del Molise.

The next stop on the sustainability tour will be in Abruzzo, where another school will have the opportunity to live this unique and educational experience. This path will continue by touching the other winning schools in the regions involved, bringing the message of sustainability and environmental awareness to thousands of young students.

The ten stops of this tour represent a journey through central Italy, promoting environmental education and sustainability, themes of fundamental importance for future generations. Thanks to Estra’s commitment, “Travelling Schools” confirms itself as a project of great value, capable of raising awareness and involving people in an innovative and engaging way.
