Trenitalia, the night Frecciarossa Milan-Lecce and the Intercity to Reggio Calabria leave. Here are all the new routes

Traveling at night from Milan to Lecce on a Frecciarossa or move from Bolzano to the Salento capital at night using an Intercity. Or choose to leave from Lecce or Bari to reach Reggio Calabria. These are just some of the new features of the summer experience that Trenitalia has developed for Puglia starting next month. In fact, since June, two new Frecciarossa trains will circulate over the weekend: the Milan-Lecce with departure at 10.45pm and arrival at 7.57am, and the Lecce-Milan with departure at 9.05pm and arrival at 7.35am. The two new offers are added to the Frecciarossa trains to and from Milan, Turin, Venice, Padua and Bologna, which in the summer will also make stops in Monopoli, Fasano and Ostuni.
Also from next June the Milan-Lecce and Bari-Milan Intercity trains will run every day. On Friday and Saturday, however, the Lecce-Bolzano train will depart, while on Saturday and Sunday it will circulate on the reverse route. In the next few weeks it is expected that two Intercity trains will travel from Reggio Calabria to Lecce and vice versa, while from July there will be the Reggio Calabria-Bari and the Bari – Reggio Calabria. The Intercity buses that run on the Adriatica will stop in Polignano a Mare. Also from June, the Monopoli beach link returns, which allows, with the collaboration of the Miccolis Lentini buses, to reach the main beaches from Monopoli to Chapter, and the links to and from Foggia (Vieste link and San Giovanni Rotondo link) in collaboration with Cotrap. The train+bus connections are also renewed, in collaboration with Ferrovie del Sud Est. The Porto Cesareo link and Otranto link will depart from Lecce as well as new train connections to Gallipoli.
Train connections are also planned, from June to the end of August, on the Foggia – Manfredonia line. «Trenitalia’s summer experience allows us to offer a unique model of excellence, thanks to thousands of trains and buses that move millions of people every day», declares Stefano Cuzzilla, president of Trenitalia. «The forecasts for 2024 indicate further growth for all business divisions and in particular for the tourism segment. We look forward to the summer with enthusiasm”, concludes Luigi Corradi, CEO and general manager of Trenitalia.
