Rolland and Bertone win the 10km race

On Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th Aosta was home to the now usual Aosta half marathon known first as “Half Aosta” and then as Aosta 21k since the route has been approved by FIDAL, organized by Atletica Sandro Calvesi and twinned with the Ravenna Marathon. It was a record edition in terms of the number of people registered for the event: in total, registrations were 2618almost 600 more participants than the 2023 edition. The 21k and 10k race was valid as the Absolute Regional Championship of the half marathon and 10 km on the road.

The men’s winner of the BCC Valdostana Half Marathon was René Cuneaz (GP Paro Alpi Apuane) in 1h05’14” coming close to his personal best of 1h04’55” and beating the record of the 2023 edition, the Kenyan 2nd Simon Kibet Loitanyang (ASD Atl. Vomano) in 1h06’12” and the Burundian 3rd Leoncel Bukuru (Cosenza K42) in 1h08’10”. The women’s ranking sees the Kenyan in 1st place Emily Chepkemoi Cheroben (Atl. Castello) who crossed the finish line in 1h17’51”, second Cavaline Nahimana (Atl. Libertas Unicusano Livorno) in 1h18’51” and third Simona Cargnino (Base Running) in 1h21’21”.

There CVA 10K Race was won by Stefano Rolland (Atl. Canavesana) in 34’18” ahead of the Aosta Valley by just 2”. Alessandro Benati (Atl. Cogne Aosta), 34’20”. Closing the podium is Antonio Celardo (Cremonacorre ASD) who finished in 34’35”. In the women’s category the victory goes to Catherine Bertone (Atl. Sandro Calvesi) who stopped the clock at 38’08”, the only woman under the 40′ mark. She took second place Rodica Sorici (CSD Guardia di Finanza Aosta) with a time just over 40′, 40’01” and third Federica Barailler (APD Pont Saint Martin) in 40’20”.

For them regional rankings the regional half marathon champion titles go to Mikael Mongiovetto (Atl. Pont Donnas), 1h14’18”, ea Elisa Brocard (Atl. Sandro Calvesi) with a time of 1h28’01”. Completing the men’s ranking: 2nd Nicolas Statti (Polisportiva Sant’Orso Aosta) in 1h15’28” and 3rd Marco Betassa (Atl. Monterosa Fogu Arnad) in 1h19’17”.

The women’s ranking sees, behind Brocard, Nancy Kerubo Kerage (Atl. Sandro Calvesi) in 1h28’02” e Stefania Bonjean (Atl. Cogne Aosta) third in 1h28’53”. The regional 10 km title was won by Alessandro Benati (Atl. Cogne Aosta) in 34’20”, in 2nd place Niccolo Beneforti (Atl. Sandro Calvesi) in 35’09” and 3rd Erik Benedetto (Atl. Monterosa Fogu Arnad) in 36’27”. The women won the title Catherine Bertone2to Rodica Sorici and 3to Federica Barailler.

As part of the Aosta 21K, on ​​Saturday afternoon 1050 children and young people were able to play in the open air at Puchoz Park where eight different routes were set up including sports, music and civic-environmental education. Prizes were awarded for the largest educational institution present, the Mont Emilius 2and to the sports association won by ASD Bike Team Diavoli Sarre.
