A primary school student won the third national prize in the national literary competition.

Fiumicino, 18 May 2024 – A student from Fiumicino was awarded the third national prize of the 1st “Italo Calvino” literary competition: the national literary competition aimed at boys and girls in classes IV and V of primary school and the three classes of the school secondary school throughout Italy, banned by the “Italo Calvino” State Comprehensive Institute of Catania, on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of the well-known writer.

Emanuele Di Francesco class 5B GB Grassi primary school was among the top three in the competition and stood out among the 250 fifth primary school students from all over Italy who participated.

The initiative, aimed at promoting knowledge of the great Italian writer and arousing in students a love for reading and writing, consisted in the drafting of an unpublished theme and the typology of the story, with a maximum limit of 17,500 words, on “Loyalty and purity of heart”.
On May 15th, in the morning, the 5th classes followed the final awards ceremony in connection with meetings from the Palazzo della Cultura in Catania. Great emotion for the prestigious recognition obtained not only by the family but also by the teacher Floriana Razzino.
