At the end of extensive investigative activities, the staff of the Massa Police Headquarters arrested an Italian citizen resident in Turin for the crime of robbery.
The investigative activities, carried out by Massese Flying Squaddirected by Dr. Antonio Corcione, and by Anti-crime section of the Carrara police station, allowed us to identify, in a short time, the author of the rapina placed in the Avenza post office in recent March of this year.
The robber, an Italian of about forty years old, with specific precedentshad spotted the Avenza post office, where only the deputy director was at work inside. The area, known and frequented by him in the past, as emerged from the investigations carried out by the investigators, was not very frequented by users at that time.
The dynamics were rapid and brutal: the robber entered and aimed directly at the employee, subjecting him to threats and beatings that forced the victim to subsequently seek medical attention of the Noa hospital. Since any resistance from the postal employee was in vain, the robbery was also completed with a meager loot for the robber, escaped without a trace.
The immediate alert to the state police patrols therefore began the attack manhunt; set in motion, the investigative machine of the Apuan police has reconstructed the passages of an immediately suspicious car which left immediately after the criminal event, towards Turin.
The intense investigative activity made it possible to trace the identity of the robber, achieved by a precautionary custody order in prison of the investigating judge, at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Massa.
Separate chapter for the capture of the man. After the police arrive in Turin to arrest the criminal, the robber is not found in the house when the Apuan police burst in to carry out the search. He flees through the center of Turin in a van, but the police, with the help of his Turin colleagues, he intercepts him and after a chase manages to arrest him.
During the search the police also found narcotic substancesapproximately thirty grams of hashish, attributable to people living with the robber. But the policemen’s amazement is great when they discover that, guarding the narcotic, there appears to be a large boa present in the house, perhaps as a deterrent.
The doors of the Turin prison are opened for the robber, and in the next few days he will be subjected to interrogation for the guarantee profiles provided for by the criminal procedure code; in the meantime the arrested person will be available to the Turin Judicial Authority.
