The long-awaited Sports Festival is back, now in its fifteenth edition. The event will be held from 17 to 19 May 2024 at the Campo Coni in via Botticelli in Latina. Three days of sport and entertainment which every year attract hundreds of athletes, associations and spectators. The event, which in past years has seen the participation of around 10,000 people per edition, offers a wide range of sporting activities, shows, exhibitions, music and more.

The Sports Festival is a free event that enhances every form of physical activity. The program is full of events with numerous clubs and athletes who have already confirmed their presence. A dedicated stage will host artists and dancers starting from 4pm on Friday 17 May. Furthermore, there will be an exhibition area and a refreshment area with street food.

Davide Fioriello, general secretary of Opes and president of In Corsa Libera, declared: “The Sports Festival keeps the city moving for three days, offering numerous attractions. We will be busy with the Sports Festival which will welcome sports associations of all kinds and with the national Fidal Half Marathon race in Latina. We invite all citizens to take part in the free 2.7 km Family Walk which will be held at 9am on Sunday 19th. It will be a walk open to everyone, even four-legged friends, designed for involve the whole community. We hope again this year for the event to be as successful as possible to offer the city days of leisure, entertainment, tourism and sports promotion”.

The Sports Festival is organized by Opes Latina and In Corsa Libera, with the patronage of the Municipality of Latina, the Lazio Region, Coni Lazio, the Province of Latina. The event is organized in collaboration with the Legea Half Marathon of Latina, a Fidal competition which will be held on Sunday 19 May and which will see the participation of many runners from all over Italy.

There will be 1200 athletes who will participate in the two competitive races on Sunday: the Half Marathon and the 10 km. Among the participants of the Half Marathon there will also be the multiple world champion Giorgio Calcaterra, who will wear bib no. 1. The Opes event is included in the calendar of the Italian Athletics Federation as a Bronze stage. The Half Marathon route, 21.097 km long, is Fidal approved, as is the 10 km route.

New this year is the free 2.7km Family Walk, open to all, which will start at 9am from Campo Coni and will cross the city center with the help of expert staff. The route includes via Buonarroti, viale XXI Aprile, via Sauro, Piazza della Libertà, via Diaz, Piazza del Popolo, Corso della Repubblica, via Savoia, with return to Campo Coni. The initiative is open to adults, children and four-legged friends, to have fun together doing physical activity.

Connecting from Campo Coni, Davide Fioriello, general secretary of Opes and president of In Corsa Libera, invites everyone to participate in this extraordinary sporting event.
