After a day and night of emergency, in Milan and the province, the water level has dropped and in many areas the situation has improved, but in the Lombardy capital the level of the Lambro is still worrying, just below emergency levels. In the city, the Local Police specified, Via Feltre was reopened around 7 am, but in the Ponte Lambro district the river is still just below the edges. The weather should create a window of time for the water to retreat further but a worsening is feared in the evening.

Over 200 interventions were carried out since yesterday morning at 8am (about thirty during the night) by the firefighters of the Provincial Command of Milan in the metropolis and in the hinterland, and in particular between the Ponte Lambro district, in the city, and Gessate and Bellinzago Lombardo, in the province, the places most affected by the bad weather emergency. In Bellinzago Lombardo, in particular, the schools are closed today and the water is receding but slowly, continuing to occupy streets, sidewalks, cellars and entrance halls. In Ponte Lambro the fire brigade generators are still in operation due to the presence of some buildings still without electricity. And while in Milan the situation improves in all the neighborhoods in the North, such as Niguarda, and in the North East and South East, those traditionally affected by floods, the attention of the police forces is concentrated in the hinterland, as in Gessate, where the people are still in difficulty. In Milan, the underpass in via Cogne, part of via Rilke and via Turati in the center are still closed due to damage to a public transport vehicle due to a pothole.
