MONTESILVANO. Spray cans, paint cans, brushes, scaffolding and lots of creativity. The heart of Montesilvano is ready to explode with colours, music and fun from 17 to 19 May with the Pulpa Festival – volume 4.
The exhibition dedicated to street art, which changes location every year giving rise to various open-air galleries in the city, was born from a happy intuition of the Atelier 010 association and the associated Studio 010 agency, under the artistic direction of Enrico Peca, who it found fertile ground in the outgoing municipal administration, with its youth events department. A project which, due to its artistic and tourist value, will also benefit from the support of the Abruzzo Regional Council this year.
There will be five artists who have already gone into action on the facades of Palazzo Baldoni in Piazza Quattrocchi, one of the headquarters of the municipality of Montesilvano, and who will complete their works over the weekend allowing everyone to attend the show, made up of murals but also of music, workshops, street food, guided tours of the walls and much more. They are Vera Bugatti from Brescia, Neve from Turin, born Danilo Pistone, Neapolitan Vittorio Valiante, Sicilian Salvatore Ligama and the adamantine artist Antonino Perrotta, known by the tag Attorep. As for the theme chosen for this fourth edition of Pulpa, it will be interculture with interventions in classic figurative style, with the aim of giving a more institutional imprint to the works. The three days dedicated to street art will also be animated by many collateral activities ranging from markets to hip-hop and boxing performances, through treasure hunts, skate courses or mini basketball tournaments, without forgetting the cartoonists and the illustrators who will draw live. But not just street events. During the Pulpa Festival, meetings and workshops are scheduled to be held in the council chamber, in the nearby municipal gardens and in the library of Palazzo Baldoni, organized in collaboration with the projects We are diversities, Immersive culture, PescaraBimbi and Differently. Finally, there will also be space for music, thanks to the collaboration with the Diorama Festival which will see performances, starting from 6 pm, by Johnny Marseille on May 17th, Davide Shorty on the 18th and Beez & Deliuan on the 19th.
