up to 38 degrees expected

Italy split in two on the weather front with the risk of strong storms in the north and summer heat in the south, where the first scorching blaze is expected which makes meteorologists predict even 38 degrees in the shade in Sicily. The key day will be Friday. This is the trend for the next few days according to the forecasts of Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist of ‘-’. From the next few hours, he explains, intense phenomena will continue to hit Piedmont and Lombardy and then rapidly slide towards Emilia, Veneto and much of the North-East. On the Adriatic coasts, isolated waterspouts with the possibility of large hail cannot be ruled out. On the other hand, Tedici specifies, in the Centre-South we will have good, mostly dry weather. Tomorrow in the Po Valley, showers, lightning, hail and gusts of wind exceeding 100 km/h are expected. An increasingly frequent phenomenon also due to climate change and the greater energy at stake. Once again, however, Italy will be split in two and will see the central-south struggling with sun and summer heat with peaks of up to 35°C in the south. On Friday 17th the weather is expected to improve significantly also in the north and only showers are expected in the Alps and Pre-Alps. The heat, however, will increase more and more in Sicily with 38°C in the shade in May.

However, there will already be some news over the weekend: there will be an increase in Saharan dust in the air (the so-called “desert sand”) with milkier skies and also red or ocher rains in the central-southern regions on Sunday, Sicily included. As far as the north is concerned, we will experience a truce, as new Atlantic rains are expected from Monday.
