Thanks to the ITALIAN PRESS ASSOCIATION IN BRAZIL (ASIB) which – by renewing its bodies – elected me to the Vice Presidency for Brazil and abroad.

I will represent the Marche for the next three years.

I am particularly happy about it: Brazil is a country that is close to my heart, to which I have dedicated two of my nine books:

-‘In the shadow of a dream– Fakash Editora, San Paolo del B., 2007

‘Fazendas, café, cana-de-açúcar, vinha e uvas. Marche people in Brazil‘- Mazzanti Libri, Venice, 2023.

After entering the era of coffee which followed that of sugar and gold and which would end up dominating the economic, cultural and social life of the entire country, both texts focus on the lives of 22 families from the Marche region who over the years Fifty found themselves living in semi-slavery on coffee and sugar cane farms.

The story is told through direct testimonies and interviews with survivors and their descendants in the towns of the states of Paranà and São Paulo.

Founded 30 years ago, Asib is chaired by Giuseppe Arnò, journalist and director of “La Gazzetta Italo-Brasiliana” in Rio de Janeiro. President Emeritus is Wenceslao Soligo.
