SESSANO DEL MOLISE – The abandonment of animals is a social and environmental emergency that goes far beyond the simple problem of managing stray animals.
“In recent months numerous dogs have been abandoned in the municipal area of Sessano del Molise. The latest episode was just a few days ago, when three animals were left on the side of the road. The situation has now become worrying and is putting the resources and patience of our community to the test.” The mayor declared it Pino Venditti who specified how the municipal administration promptly took action, alerting the competent authorities to address the problem.
“However – continued the mayor –, to effectively combat this phenomenon, a further effort on the part of the institutions is essential. For this reason I firmly ask for the intensification of controls in the area by the relevant institutions”.
“We cannot tolerate these acts any longer which not only denote a serious lack of civic sense, but also constitute a crime punishable by law,” continued Mayor Venditti. “I make a heartfelt appeal to all citizens to ensure that similar behavior does not occur again.
Every abandoned dog is a life that is left to its fate and represents a problem for the entire community. We invite all citizens to report any case of abandonment or mistreatment of animals. Only with everyone’s collaboration will we be able to stem this phenomenon and guarantee a safer and more respectful environment for our four-legged friends”, concluded the mayor of Sessano del Molise.
