Modica – The third edition of Schiuma, the first Craft Beer Festival facing the sea and feet on the sand, will be presented at a press conference next Saturday 18 May, at 10.00 am, in the municipality of Modica. The event will be held from 31 May to 2 June in Marina di Modica and will officially kick off the rich summer program that will enliven the Modica area.

Seven regions are the protagonists of this edition of Schiuma. There will be 11 guest breweries which will crown, once again, that dream born three years ago of promoting the culture of craft beer, good drinking and good eating with a simple language and lots of colours.

The event, which in the past two editions recorded the presence of around 4 thousand people and more than 10 thousand liters of excellent beer poured on site, turns the spotlight back not only on the beer product but also on the value of conviviality and freedom of ideas. And speaking of ideas, let’s remember that Schiuma’s was born from the meeting between Beerchef and beerspecialist Eleni Pisano, engaged for years on various fronts in the brewing world, and Zero Comunicazione Integrata, an agency with extensive experience in the organization and promotion of events .

In just a few years, Schiuma has grown considerably, confirming itself as the first and only festival of craft beer, quality food, music and sector tastings. This year it boasts the patronage of the Regional Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment, the Free Municipal Consortium of Ragusa and the Municipality of Modica.

Among the initiatives planned are Convivio and Creo Vivo, a cuisine with excitement that sees the collaboration between two important and highly innovative realities based on tradition and creativity, namely Convivio and Creo Vivo, with which the entire food offer in Schiuma will be managed. The participation of Saro Petriglieri is expected, a master of the art of cheese spinning and of the narration of cheese, food that has always been in close connection with the world of beer. There will then be the opportunity to participate in a four-handed cooking demo with the chefs Carmelo Ferreri Executive Chef of the Corallo Marina Restaurant in Modica and Peppe Cannistrà Executive Chef and Patron of the Rude Ragusa Restaurant as well as the one conducted by the chef Francesco Mineo Executive Chef of the Colonel Modica Inn. And then, interactive and sensorial tasting with Matteo Selvi and Stefano Moraschini (Unionbirrai Beer Tasters), international judges of brewing competitions, and with the presence of the brewers. All tastings will be limited in number and subject to reservation on the official website of the event.

Finally, a high-level sporting competition at sea is planned thanks to the collaboration with Sicilia Open Waters and the 2024 Foam Award for the best Foam and tapping.

We are not interested in appearing but in socializing, sharing ideas, comparing points of view, welcoming and giving lightness that has nothing to do with superficiality. Schiuma – continues Eleni Pisano – is a system that creates a network and believes in diversity with the involvement of people who have different professionalism and skills, each fundamental to creating the Schiuma system. Let’s not pretend that nothing is happening in the world, indeed it is no coincidence that in this edition our slogan is the sea has no boundaries: the beach is the place from which we often start and arrive, it tells stories of travellers, encounters , migration and diversity.

The waves of the sea and their coming and going supports this view. In this edition, Schiuma, which has become a registered trademark and an event format, will present the new formats created by the Italian brewers’ association, which has among its main aims those of talking about development, territory, sustainability, tourism and inclusion starting from the of the brassogastronomic supply chain. Thanks to the Zero Comunicazione agency which with all its staff has been working for months on the organization of the three days, to the Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment of the Sicily Region, to the Hon. Ignazio Abbate, member of the ARS and President of the Institutional Affairs Commission, to the Free Municipal Consortium of Ragusa and to the mayor of Modica, Maria Monisteri, for having accepted the invitation to host the event.
