“He was born all’intrasatto”: the birth of Monte Nuovo in 1538 by Vincenzo Boccardi.
The Pro Loco Puteoli, the Lux In Fabula Cultural Association and the Thetys Foundation – Sea Museum of Naples are pleased to announce a performance that brings to light one of the most intense moments in local history: the birth of Monte Nuovo in 1538.
The event, which enjoys the moral patronage of the Municipality of Pozzuoli, will take place on 20 May 2024 starting at 5pm in the former Council Room of Palazzo Miglaresi, Rione Terra – Pozzuoli.
È nasce all’intrasatto is the title of the representation, which draws inspiration from the detailed and evocative historical chronicles collected by Vincenzo Boccardi to offer an accurate narrative of the eruption that changed the landscape of the Campi Flegrei forever. The evening will be introduced by the vice-president of the Thetys-Museo del Mare Foundation, M. Antonietta Selvaggio and by the author of the text, Vincenzo Boccardi.
The actresses Nella D’Angelo and Nicoletta Boccardi will give voice to the historical reconstruction, taking viewers back in time to that fateful event of the 16th century, while the renowned painter M° Antonio Isabettini will capture the essence of the eruption by painting an impromptu, inspired to the narrated phenomenon.
The experience will be made more engaging by the musical interventions of Vincenzo Boccardi, Ugo Dente and Tiziana Tuzi who will be able to excite the audience by making them fully involved.
Entrance is free, a choice that intends to underline the importance of community participation and the maximum diffusion of local culture and history.
