“Latina, the state of the coast: diagnosis and prospects”: Sunday 19 May the conference organized by the Arcobaleno Pontino club Legambiente Aps. The appointment is from 10.00 to 12.30 in the Vasco De Gama Park area, in via Pantelleria, in Latina Lido. The meeting was organized as part of the “Clean Beaches and Seabeds” campaign promoted by Legambiente at a national level.
The meeting – explains the Pontine circle of Legambiente – was organized to give a scientific contribution in the analysis and in-depth analysis of the situation of a coast with a development of 132 km of which 14 only in the municipality of Latina (data source: the website of the Municipality of Latina).
The state of eco-environmental criticality reached on the coast of the capital has been at alert levels for some time. The news, which is easy to see, shows us increasingly large stretches of coast in the process of “extinction”, which make it difficult for citizens and economic operators to use it. The causes of this situation are multiple, and see the climate emergency as a determining factor of impressive relevance. Yet, faced with this scenario (proven dangerous and serious), interventions continue to be proposed that have the characteristic of being provisional and partial.
Professionals who have long been involved in trying to understand this situation, analyze it and find useful, long-term solutions were invited as speakers.”
