By summer 2025 the Orogel stadium “Dino Manuzzi” will be affected by further extraordinary maintenance works to adapt to the infrastructural criteria established by the FIGC regarding nineteen toilets present within the sports facility in via Giovanni Spadolini 110. L The intervention, corresponding to an investment of 200 thousand euros by the municipal administration, was approved by the council yesterday, Tuesday 14 May, with a specific resolution.
Accepting the request of the Football Federation following the approval of the National Licensing System for admission to the 2024/2025 Serie A, Serie B and Serie C Professional Championships, the municipal administration is now proceeding with the planning of these new structural interventions necessary for the Cesena sports club to be able to participate in the professional championships, in the specific case of Serie B, of the 2024/2025 sports season. The new toilets, compliant with health and hygiene standards, will be built in blocks inside the steps, serving the Guests curve and the Sea curve.
The municipal stadium was built between the ’50s and ’60s, the grandstand and the curves were the subject of a general renovation in 1988 with a demolition and reconstruction project of the old concrete stands to increase their capacity and adapt it to the championships of Serie A in which the Cesena Fc team played. Over the years, the Cesena sports facility has been the subject of various extraordinary maintenance and safety measures, to adapt it to the needs of the FIGC and the Prefecture, especially in matters of public safety and aimed at preserving the structure.
The intervention described, in fact, follows further works, corresponding to a cost of 400 thousand euros, carried out in recent months and concerning the restoration and covering of the external stairs. In recent months, the largest sports facility in Cesena, often at the center of national and international football events and major musical and entertainment initiatives, has been modernized with significant interventions: renovation of the electrical panels serving the lighting system; activation of the sophisticated video surveillance system installed by the company R Sicurezza of Cesena; adaptation of the fire detection system; extraordinary maintenance of the water-sanitary system of the toilets; maintenance with sandblasting and epoxy primer on the landings; and supply and installation of scaffolding for the re-roofing of the five turnstiles (access to the Stadium).
