“It has been reported to us, in the vicinity of Punta di Mola, for the most part, therefore, in the Ragusa area given that, in any case, a portion belongs to the Municipality of Santa Croce Camerina, the presence of a phenomenon to be monitored which deserves to be placed under attention and which is worrying, quite a bit, the residents and holidaymakers of the area”.
The complaint comes from the president of the Ragusa in Movimento association, Mario Chiavola, who has collected some reports on the matter from some citizens. “A portion of the beach that lies in this area – explains Chiavola – records the presence of people of all kinds who, as they did last summer but also during the winter period, drink beer, not taking care to collect the bottles that rather they are thrown wherever they happen first, they eat, leaving plastic everywhere, and doing their business in front of the homes of the people who live in the area. The circumstance is even more sensational because someone would have even furnished the area with benches and tables. Apparently, in recent months, an initial inspection had been carried out by the municipal police of Ragusa but it did not have the desired effects. Now, with the arrival of the summer, there is the risk that this phenomenon (it seems that last year there were dozens and dozens of people hosting beach parties that would not have been authorized) could repeat itself again with everything that this may entail in terms of severity. This is why we ask the municipal administration to carefully evaluate how countermeasures can be put in place to guarantee safety and urban decorum for citizens who live in the area”.
