Fiamme Gialle operation in the Province of Brindisi: over 6,000 non-compliant products seized

Interventions aimed at combating illicit marketing in various municipalities

Over the last month, the Fiamme Gialle of the Provincial Command of Brindisi have conducted a series of operations aimed at ensuring the safety of consumers. The interventions, carried out in the municipalities of Brindisi, Mesagne, Ostuni, Carovigno, San Vito dei Normanni, Fasano, Oria, Erchie and San Pietro Vernotico, led to the administrative seizure of over 6,000 products in 15 commercial establishments.

The seized products, including cosmetics, clothing accessories, toys and household items, were found not to comply with the regulations set out in the “Consumer Code”. This legislation brings together consumer protection provisions and establishes that every product on the market must provide clear information such as the name, the identity of the producer and the country of origin.

The control activities were not limited to the seizure of unsafe products, but also included the identification of the owners of the commercial activities involved, who were reported to the competent authorities for further investigations. The objective now is to dismantle the logistical and organizational chain underlying the distribution of these illicit products and to ascertain any tax violations.

These operations underline the continuous commitment of the Fiamme Gialle in combating the marketing of non-compliant products, contributing to maintaining a high level of consumer safety and guaranteeing a fair market for honest economic operators.
