Porti, Musolino: “Fiumicino national pride: it is the first in 40 years in Italy”

(Adnkronos) – Musolino: “We are moving from words to deeds. Before we said we wanted to build a port, now we are doing it. Thus we will fix a series of problems, including a situation along the canal that was no longer sustainable. And what’s more, with the new concession that we have granted to IP, we are definitively fixing the supply of kerosene and jet fuel for Fiumicino Airport, 80% of which is via the highway. In short, another infrastructure serving one of the most important infrastructures in the country, that is, the first airport in Italy. A series of multiple satisfactions also because here we are talking about a dredged port. And in Italy dredging a port is more difficult than performing a miracle. And in these three years we have managed to dredge them both in Civitavecchia and Fiumicino. It’s a moment of great satisfaction, truly. And for this I would like to thank all the employees and collaborators of the Authority, without whom we would not have been able to achieve these results. In Civitavecchia we are making over 220 million in PNRR investments, with the lengthening of the walls, then the opening to the south where the new tourist port will be built, without forgetting the completion of the last mile works, the 23 million for the “greenisation” of the entire port between photovoltaic and hydrogen. We are the first Italian port Hydrogen Valley: an important series of interventions in just 38 months. Source of great satisfaction, even personal satisfaction”

Pino Musolino, President of the Port System Authority of the Central and Northern Tyrrhenian Sea, spoke on the sidelines of the start of work on the new port of Fiumicino
