‘Pupetta’ bakery and housewares from ‘Half’

Two shots in the night, two more shutters forced to take away a few coins and household products. Thieves in action in the center of Bari, in the night between Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th May. The bakery ended up in the crosshairs Puppet in via Cairoli and the Chinese market Half in via Abate Jimma.

“Be happy you’re in Bari!!! Pupetta’s focaccia sells like hot cakes even at night”, the message from Elisa Mucaliaj, owner of the Pupetta bakery on her Facebook page. “They damaged the shutter and this morning we couldn’t even lift it – the owner tells Telebari – so we called the Carabinieri and Fire Brigade. They entered and took a few coins from the cash register, no more than 20 or 30 euros. The main damage is precisely to the shutter.”

Same fate for ‘Half’: the owner’s husband tells Telebari that only household products were stolen. He investigates the police. There have been many ‘breakthroughs’ in recent months: among the most sensational blows of 2024, the one against the ‘Gran Caffè Imbriani’ in March.
