The center of Ferrara’s nightlife, the College disco in Ferrara, is transformed into a stage for the presentation of the UDC list. A different and unexpected location which hosted the candidates and the mayor Alan Fabbri, while Riccardo Bizzarri acted as speaker.

Fabbri opened the evening by reminding the public of the work carried out during these five years: “Ferrara is a different system from the other cities of our Region, we tried to exploit this to give everyone the opportunity to emerge regardless of political belief, religious belief and sentimental orientation of each of us. We worked on projects because I believe that it is the latter that give us the possibility of creating something and through other people we managed to achieve this.” And then the jab at his opponents: “They have lost the power they had before and only think about attacking me, sometimes in the strangest ways. I believe that these continuous denigrating attacks do not give dignity to the electoral campaign. If you think that Ferrara is worse today than five years ago, don’t vote for me because I will continue in the same direction: ever further forward.”

This will be followed by the screening of a video introducing all the candidates amidst applause and chants from the list. On stage then, one by one, they had the opportunity to present themselves and explain their electoral programme. The first to climb the leaders, nicknamed, Lady La Torre “I am a daughter, I am a mother and I am proud. My main characteristic is that of being a problem solver. I am not from Ferrara by birth but I chose Ferrara because I have always loved this city and hold it dear to my heart. If Ferrara chooses me I will commit to doing everything in my power to improve it more and more. – And then she concludes – “Long live Ferrara, long live UDC and long live Italy”.

The second candidate to speak is the lawyer Ciriaco Minichiello who reiterated his experience and commitment within the Fabbri Administration: “I was a municipal councilor for three years with Alan and when I gave up the position I certainly wanted to give again in this city. It is not easy to return UDC to Ferrara which was once made up of completely different people. This adventure for me is like doing a 400 meter race, the last 60 meters are the hardest and when the energy runs out you have to run with your head and your heart.”

The host and candidate Stefano Pini reiterated the importance of bringing young people closer to politics and voting: “We managed to bring a lot of people here this evening, we didn’t expect a turnout of this type on a Monday evening. Many young people have joined the cause probably also because given our age it is easier to introduce our peers to the culture of voting. I’m not talking about losers and winners now, certainly in this last month we will work hard in the best possible way to achieve the best possible electoral campaign by giving concrete proposals without judging others with the conviction that what we propose is consistent with the operations of our Ferrara”.

At the College there is an air of celebration and all the candidates are confident about the electoral campaign and the party that represents them.
