Karate Piacenza Farnesiana ready for the Italian Beginners championships

The FIJLKAM Under 14 regional championship in the kumite (free fighting) and kata (form) specialties and the regional para karate championship were held at the Palazzetto dello Sport in San Secondo (Parma). The Piacenza team led by Maestro Gian Luigi Boselli, by the technician Giorgio Livelli, by the instructor Pier Paolo Cagnoni and by the coaches Giulia Ghilardotti and Marco Risoli presented five athletes in the race who have all qualified for the Italian FIJLKAM championship which will be held at the Palafijlkam ( Federal Olympic Center) in Ostia (Rome) on 1 and 2 June 2024.

There were 21 participating clubs from Emilia-Romagna and the Piacenza standard bearers demonstrated great tenacity and determination by winning three gold medals with Martina Ponenti in the -35kg category, Michelle Rizzoli in the -40kg category and Leonardo Scanacapra in the -43kg category.

Aicha Kouhaih lost only one match in the -50kg category, winning the preliminary round and the semi-final for third place, winning the bronze medal. Anas Fellous ranked fifth in the -38kg category, which was very large. On the same day, the regional qualifying phase for the National Coni Trophy took place in which Leonardo Scanacapra, the new regional champion, took part and had to meet the new regional champion of the -48kg category. The athlete from Cremona, but registered for a year with the well-known Piacenza club, largely prevailed over his opponent and gained the title of starter of the Emilia-Romagna team that will participate in the National Coni Trophy to be held in Catania in the first week of October 2024.

The CONI Trophy is the largest under 14 sporting event in Italy which, since the first edition in Caserta 2014, has represented a true Italian “mini Olympics”. The venue for the Final Phase of the ninth edition of the Trophy will be Sicily which will host over 3100 athletes from all over the country aged 10-14 who, together with more than 800 technicians, will arrive in Sicily representing 41 disciplines from 35 Federations National Sports and 6 Associated Sports Disciplines.
The next competitive commitments of the Piacenza Farnesiana Karate are the FIJLKAM Italian rookie championship, the Libertas national championship to be held in Caorle, the ASC national championship to be held in Cervia and the FIJLKAM Rome Open League.
