Compared to last year there are 14 new entries, while 4 municipalities are not confirmed. The region with the most awards is Liguria, followed by Puglia, Campania and Calabria.
Tremiti Islands, Rodi Garganico, Peschici, Vieste and Zapponetathe province of Foggia confirms this well five locations in the list of beaches Blue Flag for 2024. Event in Rome by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education), which every year rewards beaches that stand out for environmental excellence and care for urban and marine furnishings.
The recognition takes into account multiple evaluation criteria. Among these there is obviously the quality of bathing water, which must be excellent, but also the activities that cities implement in environmental management, in the organization of beach services and safety and in ecological education.
“This is the second consecutive year that our city has achieved this important milestone under my administration and I could not be more proud, considering that before last year, this certification had been missing for 20 years,” the comment by Giuseppe Nobiletti, mayor of Vieste.
